Youth Transition Support Program (YTS)

The Youth Transition Support (YTS) program is the most effective way to enable education, training, and employment outcomes for marginalised refugee and migrant young people while increasing their social capital. In a post-COVID-19 world increasingly shaped by AI and digital transformation, YTS ensures that their social and economic participation is successful and sustainable.

Supporting Young People

With funding from the Department of Home Affairs, the YTS consortium partners assist young people at risk of falling through the gaps, providing employers with the opportunity to meet their corporate social responsibility by supporting refugee youth into meaningful employment.

YTS delivers significant economic and social returns to the Australian government and broader community by equipping young people with the tools, skills, and knowledge to take ownership of their education, training, and employment pathways.

Operating as part of a national consortium, CMRC’s YTS program in NSW engages young people to identify their aspirations, explore vocational pathways, and connect them to real-world opportunities with employers. By demystifying the education, training, and employment system, YTS ensures newly arrived refugee and migrant youth gain:

  • Increased awareness of how the system works
  • Greater skills, knowledge, and confidence to access education and employment, improving workplace readiness
  • Opportunities and linkages that lead to long-term employment, economic participation, and social cohesion
